Say yes in Denmark.

Cobblestone lanes, little red town halls, the sea just around the corner. I photograph couples who marry in Denmark, softly, romantically and without any stress, so that you can simply be in love.

Why Denmark

A fairytale, and it's real.

  • Easy to say yes

Denmark is one of the easiest places in Europe to get married, which is why couples come here from all over the world.

  • Storybook towns

Half-timbered houses, rose-covered doors, castles and harbours. Every little town looks like a postcard.

  • Islands & sea

From the wedding island of Ærø to the North Sea dunes: wherever you marry, the sea is never far away.

  • Hygge, even in the rain

Soft Nordic light, a warm café around the corner and a calm, unhurried day. That is the Danish way.

Just across the border

Northern Germany, by the sea.

My home is right on the border, so Northern Germany is just as close to my heart. Lighthouses on the Baltic coast, little Dutch canals in Friedrichstadt, the harbour town of Flensburg and, of course, Hamburg.

  • Flensburg & GlücksburgHarbour, cobbled lanes and a water castle
  • The Baltic coastLighthouses, beaches and endless sky
  • FriedrichstadtCanals, bridges and gabled houses

Getting married in Northern Germany? The packages are the same, just book them here. Weekdays and the months outside summer are the most affordable, and most Danish town halls marry on weekdays anyway. Prints, a photo box, a poster or an extra photo book can be added when you book.

Planning

Getting married in Denmark, step by step

1 · Get approved

If neither of you lives in Denmark, you first apply to the Danish Agency of Family Law (Familieretshuset). They check your documents and issue the approval to marry.

2 · Book your town hall

With the approval you book a date and time with a Danish municipality. Ærø, Tønder and Ribe are favourites, but every town hall can marry you.

3 · Book your photos

Once your date is fixed, book me online. Witnesses can often be provided by the town hall, so you can come just the two of you.

General guidance only. Requirements, fees and processing times change, so please check familieretshuset.dk and your town hall.

Questions

Little questions, honest answers

Do you speak English?

Yes. We can talk, write and plan everything in English or German.

Can we get married in Germany instead?

Of course. I photograph weddings all over Northern Germany, from Flensburg and the Baltic coast to Friedrichstadt and Hamburg, with the same packages and prices. For couples from abroad the paperwork in Germany is usually more involved than in Denmark, so please check the requirements with the registry office early.

Where in Denmark do you photograph?

All over Southern Denmark and Funen, including Ærø, Ribe, Tønder, Gråsten, Aabenraa, Haderslev and Kolding. Further away is possible too, the booking calculates travel for your location.

What if it rains?

Danish weather changes quickly. We photograph in any weather and use doorways, arcades and soft grey light, which is often the most flattering light of all.

We are eloping, just the two of us. Is that okay?

Absolutely, some of my favourite weddings had no guests at all. The Town Hall package works perfectly for an elopement.

When do we get our photos?

Ten sneak peeks within two working days, the complete online gallery within ten working days.
